The Moat House Hotel, Armadillo and the Finneston Crane. All located next to the River Clyde. The sixteen-storey high Moat House Hotel is a pretty impressive four star hotel, with it's reflective windows mirroring the beauty of the surrounding area.
Right next door is the "Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre" (more commonly known as the SECC), which host a number of conferences, exhibitions, live performances, concerts and corporate functions all year round. It's impressive structure - the Armadillo proudly on display by the water's edge, which uses a flat sheet material to cover entire building in an arrangement similar to that of the Sydney Opera House in Australia, making it highly visible from the air due to reflected light.
The last structure to dominate the skyline is the Finneston Crane; marking Glasgow's proud past as one of the largest port cities in the world. Many ships and goods were made and traded on the docks of the Clyde. The Finneston Crane is the largest dockside crane in Glasgow. The crane was built in 1932 ad was capable of lifting 175 tonnes.
Hey Sara!! It's been a while since we last saw each other on here, great to hear from you again!
Glasghow really can be beautiful at that time of the day with a little cloud cover. I was especially pleased with how the light reflections turned out.
Cheers Barbi, great to hear from you again!! Yeah, I was pretty pleased with the colours and reflections too. The light trails in the water in particular I felt came out really well...
I love the armadillo, and the finnieston crane, but the picture seems 'too far away' like too distant.. th reflections and sky are nice, but yeah, it makes me want to pull the photograph closer to me so i can see it better.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
